Day 40, 2023: HomePods mini follow-up.

I just had two units of Apple 35W Dual USB-C Power Adapters delivered at the office earlier today. I am going to use them with a pair of HomePods mini, and freeing two ports free on the power strip. Each 35W Dual USB-C Power Adapter will supply power to a HomePod mini and a Lighting compatible devices, such as an iPhone or AirPods.

I also have a few Power Adapter Extension Cables that I kept from previous MacBook power adapters. Apple no longer include the extension cables with MacBooks for quite some times, which they now sell separately for $19.99 USD.

I also collected these extension cables whenever someone discarding their broken power adapters.

By the way, today is a pretty warm day in February; hovering around highs 70 to low 80 °Fahrenheit. The same goes for tomorrow according to weather forecast.

Day 37, 2023: HomePod mini and Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter

I have just installed a pair of HomePods mini at the office and discovered that I would need more power outlets or a different power strip. Thanks to the prong orientation of the 20 Watts USB-C Power Adapter.

I have a Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter, which I now use to power up one of the HomePods mini; no, it cannot power two HomePods mini. I use the second port for a Apple Lighting cable.

Day 27, 2023: New Jersey

Last week during my daily commute, I was listening to “Hair Nation” channel on SiriusXM radio. Bon Jovi song was playing and the host mentioned how great the “New Jersey” album was. So I went to Amazon.com and found a sealed copy of 2014 reissue deluxe edition of the album. Well it arrived today and I took it home. Then I realized that I do not have one single optical disc player in the house. I’ll have to take the CD back to the office to add it into my digital library.

On other news, I finished updating my Apple TV and HomePod minis at home. Apparently,

HomePod and Apple TV Apple TV 4K has eARC support built in. Pair it with up to two HomePod speakers to enjoy home theater audio across all your TV -connected devices.

I’m going to try it out this weekend. I am so tempted in getting a pair of new HomePods.

Day 26, 2023: Humidity and Temperature Sensors

I finally got around to installing Apple TV and HomePod mini software updates (16.3) today. The latest update enables Humidity and Temperature Sensors in HomePod mini; which are also enabled in HomePod 2nd Generation.

Update: one HomePod mini is still installing the update. I am going to leave it running and check back tomorrow.

Day 18, 2023: On the road, longer than I wanted.

Spent a lot on the road today, and got stuck on I-405 for quite a bit. Traffic was pretty bad in the evening. Then I finished setting up an M2 MacBook Air.

Still thinking about what configuration of M2 MacBook Pro I would get.

By the way, I’m interested in getting HomePod 2nd generation. I would need to get two of them for proper stereo pairing. I purchased 2 original HomePods when they were on sale. One of them stopped working a few month ago. I would have to wait until the HomePod is on sale again.
