The Answer Lies Somewhere

At first, I talked about physical therapy for my hands on another site. I decided to delete any references to the physical therapy on said site.

Instead, I’ll be talking about it here.

Some years ago, I sustained a few injuries on my hands and fingers from multiple activities, including sports among others.

Sometimes around 2014, I couldn’t make fists on both hands. Apparently those injuries finally caught on to me.

With proper medications and physical therapy, I finally able to mitigate the issues. Yet, I do feel that I had lost dexterity in both hands.

Sometimes in 2022 I started another physical therapy to increase dexterity. It was a tedious process and still is. It dawned on me that practicing guitar helped increasing strength and dexterity on my fingers. So I did some exercise on guitar on daily basis, whenever I could. I am far from being proficient again in playing guitar, and yet I have made a lot of progress.

To make this process of therapy interesting, I started rearranging songs that I like for a single guitar performance. Obviously I’m starting with a lot of slow-tempo songs. Some of them have interesting chord changes that require me to improve the way my hands and fingers move.

These days, I am working on one song that most of my friends never heard of; not a popular song.

Well, I for one enjoy this process of therapy.

Day 117, 2023: Compact Disc and Cassette Tapes

Seriously, who actually bought cassette tape and actually put it in a cassette player and played it? I’m sure it is the collectors in us who bought those tapes.

On the other hand, I still prefer buying CDs for artists that I really like.

Metallica: “72 Seasons” CD

Day 114, 2023: 72 Seasons

Today’s music is Metallica’s eleventh studio album ”72 Seasons”.

I received the digital copy of the album last night and had been listening to it since. At first listen, two outstanding songs that were not previously released for me are:

  • Too Far Gone?
  • Room of Mirrors

Having been a longtime Metallica fan, I am aware that each album is different from its predecessor; and yet sound familiar. It is going to take a lot of rounds of listening to digest the whole album.

By the way, if you could, pick up a copy of “72 Seasons” vinyl from an indie retailer. The copy I got comes with the album cover lithograph and a set of guitar picks.

Day 113, 2023: 72 Seasons Global Premiere

It was 15 minutes to 07:00 pm and I was just leaving the Post Office. A notification popped up on my phone to remind me of Metallica Global Premiere of 72 Seasons.

I checked, and there’s a cinema 12 minutes away that has a showing of the event. I walked in the theater exactly as the screening started.

The screening started with introduction from Metallica band members, which later also introduced each song. Each song is accompanied with either a music video or some kind of visualizers.

After the screening, I walk back to my cars and Steiner driving home. Shirley, after, I receive notifications from iTunes Store, that the whole 72 Seasons album is now available for my listening pleasure.

“Too Far Gone?” is one that made impression on me tonight.

Well, I’m going to a local Record Store for 72 Seasons release party tonight.
